*Watch the Video Tour * In a popular village with a view over unspoilt farmland, this large, detached house would suit anyone looking to be within easy reach of Taunton, the M5 and Tiverton Parkway for commuting.
One of the most striking features of this house is its position, slightly elevated, with a significant frontage, and to the rear, a sunny garden, backing onto countryside, with lovely views of trees, grazing livestock and wildlife.
The accommodation is a substantial size and would equally suit a growing family, or retired folk who would enjoy the space for hobbies, entertaining and visiting grandchildren.
On arrival, there is large reception hall with an impressive turning staircase to the first floor, with a galleried landing. The hall gives way to a large sitting room and separate dining room, with glazed doors between the two. The study or 'home office' is a decent size and ideal for working from home or a hobbies room. The kitchen has plenty of space for dining at one end and with a double aspect, enjoys views over the side and rear gardens.
Upstairs, there are currently four bedrooms, two with en suite bath or shower facilities, and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is particularly large as it was formed from two bedrooms, and has a dressing room, through a large arch at one end. This area has its own original door from the landing still in place, a window and radiator, so could readily be reverted to a fifth bedroom, if required, with a new stud wall division.
On approach to the house, the private drive, with garden adjoining, leads to plenty of parking and the double garage. A side gate leads to the side and rear gardens, well-established and laid to lawn, with flower beds, shrubs and trees, and a paved patio adjoining the rear of the house. The aspect of the garden would be sunny for most of the day and with the field behind, secluded and peaceful, ideal for relaxing or entertaining friends for a barbecue.
Services: Main's water, electricity and drains. Private oil tank for central heating and hot water.
Hemyock has a good range of local amenities including a doctors' surgery, mini-market, post office, primary school, local pub, recreation facilities, clubs and churches. The primary school feeds into Uffculme School, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. There are regular bus services through the village and easy access to the M5 motorway, Taunton and Exeter, and Tiverton Parkway Station for commuting.
