'The Old Chapel' lies in a convenient location in the hamlet of Symonsburrow on the edge of Hemyock, within easy reach of the services of the village and the M5 and rail links for commuting. The house dates back to 1854 where it started as a school house and was converted to a residence in1984. It has a wealth of history and whilst retaining its inherent charm, the accommodation is very comfortable and well appointed with a modern kitchen in a 'Shaker' style, the bathroom and en suite shower room fitted with white suites, as well as uPVC double glazing, oil fired central heating and a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room, providing a lovely background warmth.
The gardens on approach are a riot of colour and our clients have tended them very well, planting a superb range of flowers and shrubs for all seasons. At the end of the house, there is a garden room, from which views over the garden, wooded hillsides and countryside beyond can be enjoyed. The property is accessed via wooden gates leading to an attractive brick paved parking area with space for two cars. A bridle path runs past the house, giving easy access to fine country walks.
Hemyock has a good range of local amenities including a doctors' surgery, mini-market, post office, primary school, local pub, recreation facilities, clubs and churches. The primary school feeds into Uffculme School, rated 'Outsanding' by Ofsted. There are regular bus services through the village and easy access to the motorway and Tiverton Parkway Station for commuting.
