Cadbury - Nr. Bickleigh, Tiverton
An attractive and very spacious 4 bedroom cottage located on the edge of the village of Cadbury taking in some lovely southerly views over rolling countryside.
3 reception rooms
Ground floor shower room
Set in an elevated position on the edge of the village of Cadbury, 4 Castle Cottages is a particularly spacious cottage with a lovely southerly view to the rear. The cottage lies at the end of a terrace of four, having been extended in the past to offer excellent family accommodation throughout. The cottage gardens are very pretty and gently sloping away from the property but then also extend around the end of the neighbouring gardens. To the far end of the neighbouring properties are five garages, two of which come with the cottage.
There is plenty of visitor parking nearby and a private parking space next to the cottage, close to the front door which opens to an entrance porch and leads into the dining room. There is room enough here for a decent sized dining table and the room has been opened up to the kitchen and as such is a very sociable family oriented space. The kitchen offers plenty of storage, working surfaces, has an integrated five ring gas hob (served by propane cylinders from outside), an electric oven and space for a dishwasher and counter level fridge. Just off the kitchen is a rear hall / utility room within which is space for all you would expect but also a shower cubicle. A door opens to the cloakroom.
The sitting room is a lovely room, being dual aspect, opening through to the garden room / study which enjoys the lovely southerly views through double sliding patio doors and full length windows either side. The sitting room; in addition to the central heating, can be heated by the wood burning stove and also draws warmth from the glazed, south facing elevation of the study.
On the first floor, the bedrooms are all of a good size, three of them being doubles and the fourth a single. The two larger bedrooms have the best views down through the valley. The bedrooms are served by a large bathroom, within which is the airing cupboard.
To the rear of the cottage, a patio enjoys the best of the views feeling particularly private and sheltered. The flowering borders are exceptionally pretty and the splashes of colour sit well against the green backdrop of the rolling hills in the distance. A summer house sits on a deck on the first lawned terrace and a couple of steps lead down to the main lawn which is flanked by established hedging and shrubs. Open fields lie at the bottom of the garden and the garden turns to run along the bottom of the neighbouring cottage gardens where a vegetable plot will be found. At the far end a gate gives access to the courtyard where two garages belonging to the cottage, are located. The garages are the two closest to the road.
This really is a lovely cottage that offers plenty in it's own right but it is also conveniently placed with excellent road access to Tiverton, Exeter and Crediton as well as the surrounding villages of Thorverton, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Cadeleigh and Bickleigh between which, offer a great choice of local dining, drinking and village shops.
Please see the floor plan for the dimensions. The internal photos have been taken with a wide angle lens to show more of the rooms.
From Tiverton head south on Exeter Road. Upon entering Bickleigh turn right before the bridge and continue on the main road towards Crediton. After about 3 miles the cottage will be seen, set back from the road on the left.
Mains electricity and water. Private drainage (shared septic tank) and oil fired central heating.
