2 Hope Cottages is a fine period cottage, believed to have been built in the eighteenth century of traditional stone and cob construction, now externally rendered under a slate roof. The comfortable accommodation has been refurbished, but retains a good number of character features which enhance its inherent charm, including the stone fireplace and original mantle beam in the sitting room and exposed wood doors and original ceiling and roof beams throughout. The kitchen and bathroom of the property have both been refurbished in a contemporary yet classic style, very much in keeping with the era of the cottage. The accommodation is all well proportioned with two double bedrooms, one particularly large, and plenty of living space, all benefiting from oil fired central heating. To the rear there is a pleasant landscaped garden which enjoys a sunny aspect.
Kerswell lies between Cullompton and Honiton and close to the Blackdown Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, very popular for walking, riding and cycling. The popular village of Kentisbeare is just over a mile away, with a renowned primary school, village hall, post office and shop, church and local inn, The Wyndham Arms. The larger towns of Cullompton and Honiton are convenient, with the latter having a main line railway station with services to Waterloo. Junction 28 of the M5 lies at Cullompton making commuting to Exeter and Taunton very convenient, also giving access to Tiverton Parkway Station at Junction 27 (Paddington 2.5 hours).
