No. 1 Cleaves Cottage is an attractive, stone built, semi-detached cottage located in the exceptionally pretty Exe Valley, just a mile south of Bampton and 6 miles north of the thriving market town of Tiverton. Bampton is a charming country village offering a good range of amenities including shops, pubs, doctors surgery, primary school and a beautiful 15th century church. The Exeter Inn public house and restaurant is within walking distance and there is a public footpath leading to woodland walks close by. Ideal for commuters, there is easy access via dual carriageway at Tiverton to Junction 27 of the M5 motorway and its adjoining Parkway mainline station which provides regular intercity services to London (Paddington 2 hours). The whole area is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty with the Exmoor National Park some six miles to the north with its beautiful deep wooded valleys and heather moors ideal for a wide range of country pursuits.
Inside this charming cottage there are some lovely period features including exposed stone walls, exposed beams and a traditional inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with multi-fuel woodburning stove and the original bread oven. From Bampton proceed out of the town in the Tiverton direction. Pass the Exeter Inn on the left and, after approximately a quarter of a mile, the cottage will be found on the left hand side, immediately before the Borough of Tiverton sign.
