Emerald Seddon Davey
Emerald is our Lettings Director based in the Tiverton Office.
Since starting the lettings division in 2011, her professionalism, dedication and expertise has helped build the team into the thriving business that it is today.
Emerald was once carrying out a viewing at a cottage in the middle of Exmoor and decided to nip to the loo after the viewers had gone. When she went to open the door, the latch broke on the inside and she couldn’t get out. Typically. she had no signal on her phone, and spent 20 minutes fiddling with the latch using her car keys before she could get out of the toilet.
Her favourite place to visit in Devon is Croyde beach – and possibly The Thatch Barn Inn next to it – and she is seriously allergic to wasp stings and must carry an Epi pen with her.
Helen has many years’ experience within the management of residential property but never forgets the day she went out for a number of viewing appointment’s and it wasn’t until the last appointment of the day that a kind lady pointed out that her dress was tucked in her pants!
Her favourite place to visit would be anywhere along the Jurassic Coast with beautiful sea views.
Helen was very much a tomboy when she was growing up. She learnt to ride on an ex racehorse at the age of 7, she could play Greensleeves on the Cello at the age of 9 and learnt to drive in an old defender at the age of 14. Prior to her move to Devon, Helen trained to run The Great North Run in six months and it was one of my biggest achievements.
Louise is our practical joker … when a new member of staff starts she thinks it’s funny to hide under their desk and see how high they jump when she pops out.
She has seen lots of funny things during her time working within the lettings industry. “ What is the chance of this happening! I was outside a property in the middle of Tiverton waiting for a “Mr Brown”. Someone who looked like they were lost came up to me and I said. “Are you Mr Brown”, he replied “Yes” and I said “Do you want to come inside with me” and he gave me a strange look and walked off. The real “Mr Brown” came along a few minutes later!
Louise likes to visit Slapton Sands and walk her beloved dog along the coastline and she used to swim for Devon in a former life.
Lorrae is one of those people who has lots of humorous tales to tell from getting locked into properties to getting stuck in the mud.
“I once had trouble driving off due to the slippery and muddy conditions. Fortunately one of the viewers came to my rescue by placing a plank of wood behind one of the rear wheels. I put my foot on the accelerator to reverse off but decided to open the window to check the outside and as I started to move was sprayed with the mud onto my face and of course inside the car too! I won’t do that again.”
Lorrae is the current title holder of the Seddons Bake Off Challenge for her moist swiss roll as judged by Judi Spiers!
